Another great evening for Team Penning, Conversation, Photos, and a cocktail or two.
Just want to send a special thanks to Ms. Molly for an entertaining discussion.

Capture the Decisive Moment is a phrase first used by Henri Cartier-Bresson, who most consider to be the father of photojournalism. Cartier-Bresson’s book “The Decisive Moment” was published in 1952 with plenty of great examples of those moments he described.
Photography is unique in that it does capture a moment in time for all to share. What I find most interesting are the reactions that some people have to certain photos.
For example, the controversy that enveloped Miley Cyrus and her father from the Vanity Fair photo shoot. Some questioned the appropriateness of some photos from the shoot. I am still trying to figure out how this became such a ’story’.
Compare that to the shot of Nastia Liukin and her father from the Olympics.
Is one more acceptable or appropriate than the other? Does one photo elicit a more profound reaction because it is posed versus the spontaneity of said moment? I will let you be the judge on that one.
Here is another example of a ‘controversial’ photo taken by Rich-Joseph Facun, an award winning photographer for THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT. Check the link for additional details of his story as it is fascinating reading.
Just random thoughts as I watch the Olympics…
Another Classic Wolf River Photo after successfully navigating Big Smokey Falls ~ August 2, 2008
After going through my archives, I located photos from the Bear Paw Inn which was devastated last year in an F4 Tornado. They have rebuilt and business seems to be doing quite well. Stop in for a visit!
Additional Bear Paw Tornado Photo Gallery.
Check out the eyes on this horse!! It looks like the horse is saying “WAIT A MINUTE, you want me to do what??” Expression on the girls face is great too~ just laughing…
I really liked this action shot but wish I would have been vertical to get more of the horse in the photo.
Keelin is listening to some major BS from the sidelines
Another great night of Action photos, BS, smiles, laughter, and family fun.
Just wanted to say Thanks for all the notes of Congratulations on my recent performance in the

Dr. Dan & the Roadhouse Rockers featuring Tana G
No one left disappointed as this was a great show!
Band was outstanding~ and as for Tana, she is so into her songs it sometimes feels as if the music is controlling her, rather than the other way around.
Photo Montage of the show on YOUTUBE
The crowd was on the dance floor from the first number and didn’t stop all night!
My favorite photo of Miss Tana with more to follow.
Make sure to catch their act in a venue near you.
The FILLMOR is a great addition to the Wausau music scene!
